Miniati, Jack

Name: Jack Miniati
Where are you from: Barrington, Rhode Island
Major: Environmental and Natural Resource Economics
Expected Graduation date: Spring 2021

What is your responsibility as a 2020 URI Energy Fellow (i.e. what team are you on/where are you working)?:
As a 2020 Energy Fellow, I have been interning with National Grid’s Rhode Island Customer Energy Management group.  Our team is responsible for implementing and overseeing the energy efficiency and incentive programs that are offered by National Grid throughout the state.  My responsibilities include data analysis, research, end-of-year reporting, and collaborating on the upcoming annual and 3-Year energy efficiency plans.  I am grateful for this opportunity to gain valuable experience in a field that I am passionate about, and working alongside National Grid and URI’s Cooperative Extension has provided me with countless professional skills and development outside of the classroom.

What do you like to do in your free time? Are you involved in any other organizations or activities on campus?:
In my free time I enjoy being outside, whether that be playing sports, going for hikes, or visiting the local parks and beaches.  I also enjoy spending time with my friends and playing the guitar.  On campus, I am an executive officer of Phi Gamma Delta and a member of URI’s Coastal Society, an organization dedicated to beach cleanups, fundraising, and the overall preservation of our nearby coastlines.
