What is your responsibility as a 2020 URI Energy Fellow (i.e. what team are you on/where are you working)?
I am working with Truth Box Inc which is a Providence-based company that focuses on sustainable, energy-efficient building designs. My main responsibility is measuring and monitoring energy use of different buildings constructed by Truth Box using software programs such as Portfolio Manager and Excel. The work I am doing is vital because it will prove which designs and material assemblies are performing up to our standards, and which ones are underperforming and determining why. As the company is coming up with new blueprints for upcoming projects, we are able to implement specific designs from our previous buildings. The goal is to continually create buildings with less carbon footprint than the one before and sharing our expertise with the region.
What do you like to do in your free time? Are you involved in any other organizations or activities on campus?
When I am not in the URI Library or in the Memorial Student Union, you can find me doing activities such as reading, running, going on a hike or doing photography. I am involved in an organization called Sojourn which is a collegiate ministry where students are welcome to have an open discussion about faith. I am also continually learning how to become a better leader as a Resident Assistant for first year students.
