Karen joined CRC in 2011. She is the team leader for the Gambia-Senegal Sustainable Fisheries Project (BaNafaa) and is technical adviser to several projects in CRC’s West Africa portfolio. Karen comes to CRC with more than 20 years of overseas experience in international development project and program design, leadership, management and evaluation with both nonprofits and the United States Agency for International Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Southern Sudan, Benin, India, Burkina Faso and Mali, among others. Early in her career, Karen worked on regulatory development and implementation for the first U.S. Federal Cap and Trade Emissions Reduction (Acid Rain) Program at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Karen has a bachelor’s in environmental science, a master’s in development management and is fluent in French.
