Biography

Monica Rao is an International student from Mumbai, India. She is a graduate student at the University of Rhode Island, where she is pursuing her Master’s in Environmental Science and Management. Monica has experience in Blue Economy, Science Writing and Rhetoric, Landscape Architecture, and ArcGIS. Along with research and technical skills, she also brings forth professional and social skills such as leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, team management, understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion within the workspace, and is able to comprehend the big picture goals required for an organization’s ultimate success. She is assisting the CRC team as a Graduate Research Assistant, with a focus on supporting aquaculture initiatives in the state and bolstering the blue economy.
