Biography

Peter joined CRC’s international team in 2018. He brings to CRC a career-long interest in ecosystem service markets and a background in natural resource economics, marine planning, formal decision-making, and fisheries management. Peter moved to Rhode Island from the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he worked on cross-jurisdictional marine planning efforts and managed data collection projects. Prior to the Caribbean, he worked for an environmental economics consulting firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and for an environmental law NGO and national newspaper in San José, Costa Rica. Peter holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in Marine Resource Management from Oregon State University’s College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, where he was funded by Sea Grant to develop a community-based approach to evaluating tradeoffs across marine ecosystems services provisioned by Oregon’s first two marine reserves.
