Biography

Victoria Fulfer worked alongside former CRC Director J.P. Walsh as a Ph.D. Research Assistant from 2021-2024. She studied the sources and distribution of marine plastic pollution in coastal ecosystems, including Narragansett Bay, RI and coastal Vietnam. Victoria has an interest in communicating her research to policymakers, and during her time with CRC, and through the AGU Voices for Science policy fellowship program, as well as testifying at RI state hearings on proposed pollution bills, she informed state and national lawmakers on the effects of marine plastic pollution, and facilitated the formation of teams to produce sustainable solutions. Victoria now works as the Microplastics Science Project Manager with the 5 Gyres Institute, a non-profit focused on solutions-based science and lobbying for reduction of plastic pollution worldwide.
