Over several years, CRC worked closely with the RI Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) to develop the Shoreline Change Special Area Management Plan (SAMP) for Rhode Island. Often referred to as the “Beach SAMP”, the plan provides critical science background and goals for the future. Also, important tools were created to aid all citizens and managers to visualize risks and changes. Policies have since been adopted requiring property owners to consider hazards for new permits.
