The URI CuSP lab is accepting graduate students for Fall 2026.

The URI CuSP lab is directed by Dr. Ceren Gunsoy. We investigate the role of culture in psychological processes and primarily focus on the following questions:

• How is cultural background associated with mental and physical health?
• How does culture influence the way people form impressions of others?
• How do people from different cultural backgrounds respond to conflict?
• How do cultural norms influence the way people present themselves to others?

To answer these questions, we conduct online and laboratory studies with people from diverse cultural backgrounds in the U.S. and abroad.
