Biodiesel

One hundred percent of our waste fry oil is converted into biodiesel through our partnership with Mahoney Environmental Solutions, formerly Newport Biodiesel. Demand is skyrocketing for renewable energy or biofuels, one of a growing list of useful products derived from recycled cooking oil as world energy sources decline. Going from grease to green helps to preserve the environment and reduce our
carbon footprint.

Composting

Our kitchen food scraps are converted into compost through our partnership with The Compost Plant who works to create high-quality soil amendments and renewable energy. We utilize a SOMAT pulper extractor turning waste into compostable material.

NOTE: By law, URI will divert all organic waste from landfill to compost.

We no longer use any polystyrene. Only compostable and biodegradable is used in regards to “to-go” food items.
