URI Dining’s Brian DiMuccio to Compete in NACUFS Culinary Challenge!

Brian DiMuccio was born and raised in Rhode Island. He has been part of the state’s food industry for decades: from owning and operating a bakery to Sous Chef at the Ocean Mist, and now as a Principal Cook with the University of Rhode Island. As a leader and manager with URI Dining, he has been part of our Bronze and Gold award-winning culinary team that previously competed in the NACUFS Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards in the Residential Special Events category.

As part of the management team at the Ocean Mist, Brian has spent over 20 years providing creative takes on Southwestern-inspired fare and upscale breakfasts. His contributions to the rapid growth and widespread recognition of the South County restaurant have earned it Best Brunch in RI in the 2021 Providence Journal’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Brian has a great ability to take ideas from paper and turn them into amazing plates, cakes, and brunches. He always welcomes a challenge.

The next stepping stone in his path is to compete at this year’s NACUFS Culinary Challenge on behalf of URI Dining.

We wish him all the best as he competes with
