Biography
Professor Malloy joined the Economics Department in 2010 after finishing his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. His research in behavioral/heterogeneous agent economics focuses on using this developing field to answer macroeconomic and political economy questions. His dissertation focused on the role that loss aversion and education investment decisions play in perpetuating intergenerational income inequality.
This Fall Professor Malloy is teaching ECN 202, Principles in Economics: Macroeconomics and HPR 201, the Honors Colloquium course on “Inequality and the American Dream.” He also teaches the economics senior research seminar. While at the University of Maryland he taught Intermediate Macroeconomics and Industrial Organization.
