Professor Malloy joined the Economics Department in 2010 after finishing his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. His research in behavioral/heterogeneous agent economics focuses on using this developing field to answer macroeconomic and political economy questions. His dissertation focused on the role that loss aversion and education investment decisions play in perpetuating intergenerational income inequality.

Professor Malloy teaches Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Industrial Organization, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and occasionally Behavioral Economics and the Senior Research Seminar.
