Among the 64 URI students who presented their research projects to faculty, staff and peers at the Undergraduate Research Fellows Symposium, were 10 engineering students from four different majors.
Winning second runner-up in the poster competition was senior Afnan Altekreeti, who is majoring in biomedical engineering and mathematics. She was awarded $250 for her project on an electronic textile respiration sensing system that can be used for monitoring in an intensive care unit.
The annual event was held at the College of the Environmental and Life Sciences on Dec. 14. Below is the list of engineering students who participated.
