K-12 Outreach

The College of Engineering is committed to sparking curiosity, building STEM confidence, and creating pathways to higher education for K–12 students. Through hands-on experiences, campus visits, and community events, we aim to show young learners what’s possible in engineering and help them envision themselves in the field.

We welcome partnerships with schools, teachers, and organizations that share our goal of expanding access to engineering and STEM education.

Naval STEM Outreach

Through the URI Navy STEM Coalition, our undergraduate and graduate students bring hands‑on naval-themed activities – like tinfoil boat races, 3D‑pen workshops, water‑bottle submarines, and SeaPerch submersible demos – directly into elementary, middle, and high school classrooms across RI.
