The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island has an opening for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the broadly defined area of Biomaterials. Preferred start date is August 2020. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering (or related field), postdoctoral (or equivalent) experience, and a demonstrated record of scholarly achievement.
The successful candidate will teach core chemical engineering courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, including an undergraduate Biomaterials Engineering course; advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; conduct an externally funded research program; and serve on departmental and university level committees.
The Department of Chemical Engineering at URI is housed in the newly-constructed 190,000 sq.ft. Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering (opened Fall 2019). The center comprises active learning classrooms, research laboratories, and state-of-the-art core facilities.
