Biography

Stephen Barber received his Ph.D. from York University (Toronto), after which he was for two years a Fellow at Duke University. His research interests include British and European early twentieth-century literature and culture, contemporary ethical philosophy, psychoanalysis and critical theory. He is co-editor of Regarding Sedgwick: Essays on Queer Culture and Critical Theory. He has written on topics including queer temporality, the relationships between twentieth century conceptions of critique, ethics and aesthetics, and on “late thought/last works.” He is currently completing a book on Virginia Woolf and Michel Foucault.  He regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on critical theory and modernism.
