Biography
Focusing on multimodal contemporary American literature, Catherine Winters explores narratives that feature visual and/or spatial elements integrated with linguistic texts. Her secondary field is comix, with a specific interest in Franco-Belgian comix and criticism alongside American Underground comix and how the current canon is being created in academia. She is active in Digital Humanities, with projects ranging from quantitative analysis to mapping. Additionally, she has participated in several public humanities projects, often with goals overlapping her Digital Humanities work. Catherine received her MA from Simmons College in Boston and her BA from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ.
