Heather Macpherson

Biography

Heather J. Macpherson writes from New New England. Her work has appeared in Niche, Gravel, Spillway, The Broken Plate, Pearl, Ponoma Review, The Best American Poetry Blog and other fine places. She has thrice been features editor for The Worcester Review, and her poem, “Sestina Lot# 41994” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Previous teaching experience includes seventeen years in K-12 public education, adjunct teaching at Worcester State University and Anna Maria College, and her teaching assistantship. Heather is currently a PhD student in Literature at the University of Rhode Island where she continues essaying, and studying Poetry, Animal Studies, TransAtlantic Modernism, and Creative Nonfiction.
