Biography
Jenna Guitar is a Ph.D. student in the English and Gender and Women’s Studies departments. She holds an M.A. in English Literature from SUNY New Paltz and B.A.s in English and Theatre Arts from New Mexico State University. She has published a piece about the representation and deployment of gender in the popular television show Glee in the edited collection Glee and New Directions for Social Change (2015). She has presented her work at the National PCA conference, NeMLA, and at the URI Graduate Student Conference, which she also co-chaired in 2016. Her research interests include examining gender and queer kinship in Gothic literature & media, queer & feminist theory, pop culture studies, and fairy tales.
