The Centers and Institutes Review Committee (CIRC) shall review applications for Academic Institutes and Centers (AICs) and advance approved applications to the Faculty Senate for a vote prior to forwarding the application to the Vice President for Research and Economic Development and the Provost for final approval. The CIRC will also review applications for continuing authorization of centers and institutes, consistent with the four-year renewal cycle addressed in Section 8.90.30 of the University Manual. CIRC will also review and provide feedback on Academic Service Centers and Institutes (ASIC) because these typically serve the faculty’s needs. The Committee shall perform other duties as described in Sections 4.80 and 4.81 of the Faculty Senate By-Laws.
