The Sheila Black Grubman Faculty Outstanding Service Award Criteria

Who is eligible?
A nominee must be a full-time member of the University of Rhode Island faculty, holding the position for at least three years and not currently ​a ​member of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee (FSEC), or served on the FSEC for at least two years before the current year. Current membership in the Faculty Senate is not required.

What does the award recipient receive?
The award recipient will be honored at the organizational meeting (April/May) of the Faculty Senate and will receive an Outstanding Service plaque and a financial award of $2000.  The recipient will also be invited to attend receptions at the President’s Residence and join the Commencement processional.   

Nomination Process:

Submit the Nomination Form with 250 to 750 words describing how the nominee has demonstrated continuous growth and commitment to University service over time, and how the nominee has demonstrated excellence in continued service to the University.

The nomination should include the name, title, and department of the nominee, explain how you know the nominee, and include the length of time you have known the nominee.

Deadline: April 1, 2024

The nominee must receive at least three nominations to be considered, including commentary about the nature and quality of service and specific service activities observed.

The current members of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee shall serve as the review committee.
