Partnering school districts receive ongoing grade-specific professional development throughout the year for all science teachers and administrators, as well as mentoring, classroom coaching, and leadership training. Equity for all students in science education is a core value of the GEMS-Net partnership. GEMS-Net ensures all teachers receive support in using equitable teaching practices. Every student’s prior knowledge and new ideas are needed to move science thinking forward.
GEMS-Net connects its programming to local spaces and communities with the goal of ensuring scientific learning is relevant to students’ lives.
By providing opportunities for students to explore a variety of STEM college and career pathways at an early age, the GEMS-Net team strives to inspire the next generation to contribute to their communities and beyond.
