Navy STEM Resources

NavySTEM

In an effort to meet the growing demand for a large workforce of talented STEM professionals in the region, our program supports engineering students pursuing Navy-related careers by connecting them with valuable research and professional development opportunities. We also inspire students at the K-12 level to begin exploring naval science and technology through hands-on learning experiences.

Showcasing STEM college and career connections early and often is critical to ensuring all students can imagine a variety of future careers for themselves.

Through multiple funding sources and a research collaboration among GEMS-Net, the College of Engineering at the University of Rhode Island, and the School of Engineering at UCONN, we have developed resources to address STEM workforce development needs.

Funding

The UConn-URI Navy STEM Coalition recognizes the critical support from the ANCHOR contract, managed by General Dynamics Electric Boat and funded by the U.S. Navy through the Maritime Industrial Base Program, which enables continued investment in workforce development and STEM education.
