We want to know why students like you chose to make URI your home. Tell us your reasons for choosing URI on social media by May 1st.

Your video could be noticed by our A-list judges and reposted on the Harrington School’s TikTok. Our judges will select the top three submissions. First place will receive $2000, second place will receive $1500, and third place will receive $500.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Follow URI Admission on TikTok (@uri_admission).                

2. Follow URI Harrington School (@URIHarringtonSchool) on Instagram and TikTok.

3. Post your own #WhyURI video or stitch/duet our  #WhyURI videos.

4. Make sure your profile is public.

5. Post your answer to social media using the hashtag #WhyURI by May 1st. Make sure to tag URI Admission on TikTok and the Harrington School on TikTok and
Instagram.

Meet our judges: 

URI President Marc Parlange: As the University’s 12th president, Parlange aims to amplify innovative ideas, making URI an even more attractive school for top students and faculty.

Kevin Lopes: ’05 Communication alum Kevin leads ESPN’s Business Development and Innovation teams, which include identifying and evaluating third-party opportunities, including advanced technology initiatives.

Alexandria Zamoyta: ’13 Public Relations alum Alexandria is a Senior Director of Global Enterprise Solutions at Condé Nast, home to iconic brands including Vogue, The New Yorker, GQ, Glamour, AD, Vanity Fair, and Wired, among many others.

Kate Rogerson: ’20 Journalism and Sports Media alum Kate began her career as an on-campus sports reporter and Production Assistant at ESPN. She is now a Sports Anchor & Reporter at ABC 11 WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill.
