Learning Outcomes

• Students will be able to analyze and evaluate multiple scholarly interpretations of a historical event or question.
• Students will be able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of alternative sources of evidence for supporting historical interpretations.
• Students will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the history and scholarly debates in one area related to their field of study.
• Students in both the thesis and non-thesis options will be able to prepare research papers that are based on original research, make a contribution to the field of study, and meet professional standards for research quality.
• Students in both the thesis and non-thesis options will be able to present ideas in clearly written, well-organized and technically error-free papers.
