Thaina Nunes ’27

I am Thaina Nunes, a Biological Sciences and Spanish major with Leadership Studies and Psychology minors.

I was interested in becoming an Honors Ambassador because I wanted to engage more deeply with the Honors community while developing my leadership and mentorship skills. As someone who has navigated college as a first-generation student, I’m passionate about sharing my experiences and helping others find their place in the program. I’m excited to connect with prospective and current students, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to a program that has provided me with so many opportunities for growth!

I am a double major in Biological Sciences and Spanish with minors in Leadership Studies and Psychology. I’m currently on the pre-med track. My goal is to attend medical school and pursue surgery , where I can combine my passion for science, service, and advocacy in healthcare.

On campus, I am currently involved with Latinx Student Association and Greek Life, I am also a Biology Teaching Assistant and a CELS Peer Mentor. I also serve as a DEIB intern for the URI Alumni Engagement Center.

Off campus, I also work as a Respite Worker with Seven Hills Foundation and recently started a position as Patient Access Rep PD at Newport Hospital.
