Are you a URI undergraduate wanting to gain research experience on URI’s Kingston or Providence campus?

Dr. Tsotsoros is currently accepting applications for Undergraduate Research Assistants. We are is looking for assistance with data collection for a grant funded by the National Institute of Health- National Institute on Aging.

Primary responsibilities for this role will entail: initially recruiting participants, scheduling said participants, training in phlebotomy (if interested), blood processing, collecting routine health screening measures, and running cognitive assessments. When participants come to the lab for study sessions, the researcher’s time will be allocated to mornings. For other opportunities that do not include running study sessions, individuals will be able to work during varied hours. These experiences can enhance applications for graduate school or jobs in a variety of fields.

Undergraduate Research Assistants will have the opportunity to lead conference presentations and co-author publications. Dr. Tsotsoros will have weekly lab meetings and is available to assist in professional development.

Requirements: Commit to one academic year in this role and work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Preferably, students decide to stay in the lab for longer than one year, especially if they have an interest in becoming trained in phlebotomy.
