Keynote Speaker
Diane Lipscombe, Ph.D. is the the Director of the Robert J. & Nancy D. Carney Institute for Brain Science, where she also directs NIH-funded predoctoral training programs in neuroscience. She studies the expression, regulation, and function of voltage-gated calcium ion channels in the nervous system, as well as their role in chronic pain and psychiatric disorders. She earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from University College London and completed her postdoctorate at Yale University School of Medicine and Stanford University Medical School. She has received numerous distinctions in recognition of her scholarship, mentorship and leadership, including membership in the American Academy of Sciences and election as an American Association for the Advancement of Sciences Fellow. In 2019, she served as President of the Society for Neuroscience.
