Overview
Modern Greek is spoken by about 10 million in Greece, about 600,000 of the inhabitants of Cyprus and another three to four million Greeks of the Diaspora, mainly in the U.S, Australia, Canada, South America, and many European countries.
Learning Modern Greek will help you better understand the English language (about 25% of the English vocabulary is of Greek origin), and learn additional languages easier. It will also allow you to more easily do research on Greek history, communicate when traveling, and enjoy Greek music, songs, poetry, and literature.
