Why did you decide to study Italian?
I chose to take Italian during my General Education requirements for my major. During this time I absolutely fell in love the language and culture and decided to take it on as a second major. I also knew that it would greatly increase my job possibilities and prospects upon graduation.

Why did you choose URI?
I chose URI because of the dynamic campus life, availability of major choices, the expansive alumni outreach, and the quality of education I knew I would be receiving.

What do you consider the biggest strengths of the Italian program at URI?
The network of support you receive as a student in the language program I think is one of the greatest strengths. Taking on a dual major can be daunting, but the faculty/staff and student support was a great help in the completion of my degree in Italian language. Overall, studying a language at URI was a fantastic learning experience.

What kind of study abroad experiences have you had as a URI student?
I chose to study abroad for my entire Junior year. I studied in London for my Fall semester and Rome during the Spring. Studying in both of these locations allowed me to utilize my TMD and Italian major. While studying in Italy, I was able to perfect my language skills and apply what I learned in the classroom to everyday life. Study Abroad was one of the most enriching experiences during my four years at URI. I would highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity to any college student!

How will you use (or how are you using) your Italian experience at URI in your chosen career path?
I currently work for Gucci in New York City and travel to Italy up to four times a year. I am able to utilize my language experience during these trips abroad. It is also was a great addition to my resume, being able to achieve a degree in a second language is an amazing accomplishment.

What would you say to someone undecided about where to go to school for your particular language program?
URI offers a comprehensive language program that completely immerses you into the language you choose to study. The faculty provides you with amazing resources that allow you to connect even further with your language choice.
