MA in Hispanic Studies

students collaboratingIt is one thing to speak fluent Spanish. But in the URI Spanish Master’s program, you will not only develop higher levels of oral, aural, and written skills, but also become fluent in diverse Hispanic culture and linguistic manifestations.

In addition to these benefits, you will also attain a comfort level that will facilitate literary, pedagogical, or socio-linguistic, or cultural studies research. It is precisely for this reason that we refer to our discipline as Hispanic Studies – because it is so much more than just Spanish language articulation and acquisition. And, if you wish to pursue a Ph.D. program in Spanish at a different institution, our MA program provides a solid educational base on which to build in several different Hispanic Studies subfields.
