Biography
Born in Romania, where she did her undergraduate studies, Bianca Romaniuc-Boularand moved to France in 2003, where she earned a MA in Poetics and Intercultural Exchanges, followed, in 2010, by a doctorate in French language and literature from the University of Paris-Est. In 2019, she received a Ph.D. in French at Stanford University. From 2014 to 2019 she taught French language and literature courses as a teaching assistant at Stanford University. In September 2019, she started teaching French language and literature at the University of Rhode Island.
In 2018, she published her first book on the mechanism of lexical recurrence in Louis-Ferdinand Céline’s Journey to the End of the Night. Her more recent research interest focuses on Marcel Proust’s literary work in light of theories of action. In 2022, her second book, focused on indirect actions in Marcel Proust’s A la recherche du temps perdu, was published in France with “Classiques Garnier”.
