Colleen McAlister

Biography

My classroom experience includes teaching all levels of Spanish language-acquisition courses (beginner, intermediate and advanced), as well as Spanish for Business, Spanish for Medical Professions and an Introduction to the Literature of Spain and Latin America. I have also taught beginner Portuguese language courses. I teach using language immersion and communicative methods, and strive to situate the language within its authentic cultural contexts in my courses.

Research

My research interests include nineteenth-century Spanish literature, ruins and archaeology in literature and visual art, Romantic and Gothic literature.
