Dr. Tracey Dalton was the invited speaker at the Annual Meeting of the Salt Ponds Coalition (http://www.saltpondscoalition.org/) which was held in Charlestown, RI on August 15. In her presentation, Dr. Dalton highlighted findings of her recent research on recreational uses in the salt ponds and public perceptions of shellfish aquaculture in Rhode Island. She also detailed the different types of social science research methods that she and her colleagues use to better understand interconnections between the natural environment and the people who use and appreciate it. There were plenty of questions and a lively discussion with Salt Ponds Coalition members following the presentation.
