Nelle D’Aversa (MAMA ’17), TalyorWitkin (MAMA ’18), and Jessica Vandenberg (PhD ’20) presented at the 24th Biennial Coastal & Estuarine Research Federation (CERF) November 6-9th.
D’Aversa gave a traditional oral presentation on her master’s thesis research entitled “Perspectives on Emerging Water Quality Monitoring Technologies: Understanding Factors that Affect Technology Adoption in Coastal Management” during the Impacts of Urbanization on Estuarine Ecosystem & Water Quality session on Monday morning.
Witkin gave a 5-minute “Ignite” style presentation on his summer work at the Coastal Resources Center. He added a social and economic perspective to the Working Waterfronts and Ecosystem Services session with his talk, “Exploring Northeastern Market Opportunities for Farm raised Kelp.
Vandenberg gave a traditional oral presentation during the Lessons learned in estuarine management and restoration session. She presented on her summer fieldwork for her PhD research entitled,“Assessing the social impacts of a coral restoration project in the Spermonde Islands of Indonesia.”
D’Aversa defended her research in July 2017 and Witkin plans to defend his research in May 2017.
