Plastic Ocean Event in URI

Plastic Ocean Event in URIOn Thursday, April 5th, 2018 A screening of “A Plastic Ocean” was held at the University of Rhode Island, through a partnership with Matunuck Elementary School’s Junior Girl Scout Troop #560 and URI’s Coastal Society Chapter. This groundbreaking film revealed the causes and consequences of plastic pollution and shared potential working solutions for the incredibly widespread problem. Before the screening guests had the opportunity to interact with organizations that are dedicated to preserving our environment. Following the film there was a very educational  30-minute panel discussion with some of the partnering organizations; Clean Ocean Access, Save the Bay, Mystic Aquarium, NAMEPA, and RI Resource Recovery Corporation.
