MAF MAMA graduate Mike Rinaldi ’16 was named Employee of the Quarter by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission for the second quarter of 2019. Mike has been with Commission for two years, and has worked on both recreational and commercial fisheries data coordination and management. For the past several months, Mike has been working with the Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program’s partners on implementing an application to manage access to confidential fisheries data. The application is now an essential component of the ACCSP Data Warehouse, and allows seamless integration between users and data security contacts. In addition to that project, Mike was recognized for his work on standardization to fish and shellfish common names with state and federal partners. The communication scheme he established now serves as a model for future coordination. In appreciation of his efforts, Mike received a cash award and a letter of appreciation to be placed in his personal record. In addition, his name is on the plaque displayed in the Commission’s lobby.
