Examines global fisheries, fishing communities, and management systems, with attention to sustainability challenges.
This course presents an overview of fishing activities and practices, fishing cultures, fisheries trends, and fisheries policies and management throughout the world. The course emphasizes interdisciplinary perspective of fisheries policy and management by combining insights from anthropology, ecology, economics, fisheries science, and political science.
