 Introduces geographic information systems for coastal and marine management applications.

 GIS Applications in the Coastal and Marine Environment introduces students to basic GIS technology and terminology both on the desktop and online. Hands on class exercises focus on using GIS to make a basic map layout, visualizing coastal change and hazards, and coastal zone management. Students should be familiar and comfortable with using the Windows operating system.
