Professor Thompson took four URI graduate students, including three from Marine Affairs (Melvin Alvarez 2017, Katie Rubstello 2019, and Bobby Witkop 2018), with him to Taiwan this August for the Interdisciplinary International Seminar on Coastal Management that he team teaches with faculty from the University of Tokyo and National Taiwan Ocean University. This year the seminar participants came from 11 different countries.
