On April 22nd, 2018, students, faculty and alumni from the University of Rhode Island gathered at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, RI to clean the shoreline and hiking trails in honor of Earth Day. After one hour, over 20 pounds of debris was collected and properly disposed of. The group of volunteers ended the evening watching the sunset from the rocks, enjoying the views and good company. This beach cleanup was organized by members of the URI Chapter of The Coastal Society.
