Biography

Elizabeth (Research Associate) is an experienced researcher in applied and experimental coral reef studies. Her most recent work focuses on ecology and human dimensions of coastal fishermen and their local ecological knowledge in Rhode Island, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. At URI she was a research associate in the Coastal Resource Center within the Fisheries Integration of Society and Habitats Project (FISH-USAID/MALAWI) where she compiled studies to promote the use of fuel efficient technologies for fish processors in the lakes of Malawi. Her research contributes to understanding the value of integrating quantitative and qualitative studies to address the sustainability and conservation of coastal resources.
