Movie Screening

Join us in kicking off Hispanic and Latino/x Heritage Month celebrations with two new documentaries that discuss the complex working and environmental issues in Latin America and the United States. The first documentary explores what happens when migrated farming traditions intersect with the “urban growth machine” in a small liberal community in Santa Cruz, CA. The second, follows an indigenous cacao farmer confronting environmental, economic complexities, growing, and selling cacao beans for a global chocolate market. The Director Michelle Aguilar will attend the event virtually for a post-screening Q & A from the audience. Baked goods and beverages will be provided. Sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures and the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences
