Last Updated: July 2026
The Memorial Union roof replacement project is underway. This page provides current updates about project status, parking impacts, loading dock access, building access, entrance changes, safety measures, and phase-by-phase construction activity.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation while this important renovation work is completed.
Latest Update: Return to Phases 1–5 Through July 10
Roof replacement work continues at the Memorial Union, with current impacts in the areas above Union Square and the Atriums.
Parking behind the Memorial Union remains closed, except for the upper tiers of the 45-minute visitor/customer lot.
The loading dock remains open; however, roofing work continues over the dock area during the current week and weeks ahead. Please reach out if you have any concerns.
Cones, barriers, fencing, and signage will remain in place throughout the project for safety and wayfinding. All exits remain available in case of an actual emergency.
Shingling is in progress. Structural roof repairs and installation of new flashing are also progressing.
Door closures from the rear of the Memorial Union will shift as needed; however, some form of access will always remain.
Future work will include removal of the non-functional satellite dish and brief displacement of the WRIU antenna while that area of the roof is addressed. Additional details will be shared when exact dates are provided.
Current Access and Parking Impacts
