2024 Theme: Water Under Pressure

The 2024 Annual Workshop for Journalists had a special focus on water issues and climate change. Fellows dove deep into issues such as water quality, equity and sustainability, and ecosystem restoration, all through a social justice lens.

Metcalf Institute received over 150 applications from 32 countries and selected ten Fellows for the Institute’s 26th Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists. The Annual Workshop is a weeklong immersion program designed to help Fellows gain new insights, engage deeply with scientists, researchers, policy makers and community members to aid their reporting, expand peer networks with journalists from around the globe, and produce accurate and contextualized reporting grounded in science on globally relevant climate and environmental issues.
