Village Ministries Inc. is a NGO in Liberia. Starting in 2006, we have been working with the post-civil war situation, which has included vocational schools for ex-child soldiers. The registration for them included handing in their guns to us which we had the students put into a machine that chewed their guns up. All our work involves working in the villages in the interior of Liberia to reduce violence.  We provide vocational training for up to 655 women who lost their husbands in the civil war. All these activities are to promote forgiveness, reconciliation and reintegration of perpetrators and victims of the civil war. In our attempt to manage recovery and reduce violence in Liberia, learning strategies from the Nonviolence & Peace studies International Summer Institute could be of great benefit.
