Center honors 5 Level 3 trainers

This year the Center is so pleased to announce 5 new Level 3 nonviolence trainers. Level 3 recognizes those who have institutionalized nonviolence by creating a nonviolence center, creating a course in college or school, receiving a PhD in a nonviolence area. Recipients are:

Connie Blunden – Acknowledged for institutionalizing nonviolence by establishing the Center for Public Purpose at Greenwich Academy School in Connecticut that is based on Dr. King’s Principles of Nonviolence

Nana Osei-Darkwa – Recognized for leadership in Ghana and across Africa to build a Beloved Community through chanpioning youth empowerment and environmental restoration.

Aimee & Jason Ryan – This husband/wife team worked together to institutionalize nonviolence by establishing the North Providence High School Center for Peace & Nonviolence and for systematically training faculty and students as a Beloved Community

Raju Sarkar – Recognized for institutionalizing nonviolence by establishing the Himalayan Peace Study Center, the only nonviolence center in Nepal, located at the Vidhaya Sagar Secondary School of Banepa, with plans to train all teachers and students.

Geshe Thupten Tendhar, PhD – Honored for institutionalizing and internationalizing nonviolence as evidenced by his Center Development, Coordination of Global Training Institute, Innovative Inner Peace and Compassion Education Programs, and Attainment of the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Peace Education.
