About:

Pragya Paneru is a lecturer at Tribhuvan University. She teaches English language and literature in Nepal Commerce Campus. She also has notable experience in school education in Nepal. She remained a friendly teacher during her tenure because she did not like the strong hierarchical relationship between the teacher and students. Additionally, being a woman, she is aware of gender-based discrimination and violence in Nepal and around the world. Her research interest is motivated by her experience as a woman in Nepal and as an educator. Currently, she is exploring gender representations in school education especially in educational materials, and gender attitudes of the students and teachers in relation to those materials. She strongly believes that educational institutions can play a significant role in imparting positivity and social justice through young generations. She has a big dream to do something in the field of gender and education in Nepal. The learnings from the nonviolence workshops would help her to pass on the skills of peacefully tackling
various conflicting life events to the individuals and team.
