About:

Ahni Rocheleau, is a nonprofit consultant, conceptual sculptor, exhibition curator, arts educator, painter, poet, certified Kingian Nonviolence trainer, and climate activist. Kingian Nonviolence is that strand of nonviolence philosophy and methodology derived from the lifework of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rocheleau studied Kingian Nonviolence at the University of Rhode Island with Dr. Bernard LaFayette Jr., the American Civil Rights Leader who served as Dr. Martin Luther King’s National Program Administrator. As Field Organizer for the Great March for Climate Action, in 2014 she successfully brought marchers across the state of New Mexico on their way from California to Washington DC. She received a Master in Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has exhibited her own artwork, related to climate and social activism, and spiritual energy, internationally and won numerous awards. She has taught metal and wood sculpture at the University of Connecticut, and“Monuments to Peace, a sculpture studio and seminar at the Rhode Island School of Design; drawing and 3-D design at Providence College, and has also taught art at the RISD Museum, Providence ¡CityArts! For Youth, and the Langston Hughes Center for the Arts. She was Director of the Rhode Island Foundation Gallery, and conducted an art program in a maximum-security prison facility.
