I am excited to be one of the first Level I trainers from Texas…the Lone Star State is  long overdue! Being a BOI (Born on the Island) native of Galveston, Texas, I am a fan  of salt water, sun and sand between my toes. My life’s work has been in the field of  community mental health where I worked for almost 40 years but I continue to  volunteer with NAMI, transitioning military veterans and assisting first responders  following critical incidents. Since earning my Level I certification last year, I have co facilitated teaching the Nonviolence & Peace curriculum to incarcerated veterans in  the Galveston County Jail – one of the most rewarding projects of my life! Over the  past few weeks following the Santa Fe, Texas school shootings, I have served on the  Galveston County Critical Incident Stress Management team, conducting debriefings  with law enforcement, fire fighters, paramedics, and dispatchers.
